Hello Everyone!
I just want to thank everyone who participated in the last update. As many people know there were highs and lows, duplicate sales, and all sorts of mayhem. Even though it was a fiasco to some degree we learned alot.
My service provider was online watching the entire update so we were able to trouble shoot where the bottle-neck was happening with the traffic. Ultimately my server/service is able to handle the traffic as is wordpress which powers my site, the real problem is my shopping cart software. It cannot handle the traffic.
What this means is that I’ll be testing some new software for the shopping cart and we will see visual changes happening to the site/shop area. I am intent on providing the best service possible and have a meeting later this week to discuss further what we can do to make that better with my provider.
Now that we have diagnosed the problem I hope its just a few simple steps to having it resolved and we can go back to programming as usual!

I have been doing some work with my service provider and they are actually going to be online supervising this update in order to better maximize and improve the service/capacity of my website. Currently the question is not about server handling the traffic, but processing the pages to you in a timely manner. I am being put to a service that is optimized for the software I am using specifically so we hope that problems have been solved. Anyhow I’ve set up the date and time with my service and admin and I really hope this is a step in the right direction for the website/webshop. I am determined to have a site that can support the traffic and work smoothly for everyone. I am …determined!

thanks to all who bought last night even though my software updates sort of caused a problem. through twitter and all the mails we were able to get everyone checked out, or at least invoiced in the end. THANK YOU!!! Hopefully we will have all this…..NEW stuff sorted out by the holidays. in the meantime I am ever grateful for your support!

Hello! Sorry its been a while since I updated the blog. I just wanted to let people know that I’m working on the server/traffic situation and trying to find a solution. I appreciate everyone’s patience and until the solution is reached updates are going to be fairly random. This just makes certain the shop does not crash and works for everyone.
The sewing machine has been clicking along and I’ve been working on some new things for the holiday season. I hope everyone is enjoying the transition to winter (depending on your geological location) and into the holiday season.
I’m a little delayed with shipping this week as I had some unexpected work that I was called in to do, so I apologize for any delays.
In the next week or so I should be getting leftovers from the DollShow in Tokyo back in the mail and will be able to offer them as well! Very exciting.
Hope you all are enjoying the weekend, and thanks so much for visiting our little place on the web. I’m going to go back to my day of knitting helmets on the sofa and staying warm with tea and cocoa!

Hello Friends!
Its time for another sunday update. (keep in mind that it is daylight savings time here in Finland this weekend, so I will be setting my clock back 1 hour during tonight..)

keep your eye on flickr for contents, so far I can say that there will be pettis and helmets. The petti’s are not OOAK, there are going to be listed at least 2 in each color.
Also..last time the server really bogged down. I have contacted my admin and provider and informed them of the problem. I cannot guarantee what the result is going to be, but hopefully with a few changes, and taking a few tips from friends as well things will not go so poorly. On a good note though nothing crashed it just took 1-2 minutes to load. You guys blow my mind! So far you have far exceeded any the traffic I ever experienced on Artfire OR Etsy…
Again I remind people that if you choose not to buy an item, please remove it from your cart. it saves a lot of hassle in the long run.
If indeed we do bog down, have heart. My provider has promised to migrate me to a different server should the tweaks and changes not help this time.
Its all a learning process and I thank you all for learning with me.

alright…i know i was not the only one who experienced extreme slowness on the part of my server. I’m on it, sending an e mail already..
i’m really curious to see the stats on tonight because i’ve never experienced this sort of sluggishness ever, but as with anything out there new…can’t learn anything without just giving it a go…

*Especially this month keep an eye on the time changes because our daylight savings time does not always happen the same week as the US.
There are going to be dresses and some sets available. I can say that at least 2 sets that are like the linen ones for Japan will be up.
Thankfully Monday is shipment date for the sets to go to Tokyo so then I can work on more product for the shop!! yay!!
You can, as usual see photos of up and coming things in the set titled ‘up and coming’ in my flickr.
Regarding shopping in the shop…once you add an item into your cart its yours, have no fear.No panic if you cannot find your cart immediately!
PLEASE, if you check out or navigate away from the page, or choose not to buy an item, remove it from your cart. you will find the cart in the upper right hand sidebar of the page. If you don’t remove it from your cart, and about 15 minutes goes by with no activity/check out, I will have to delete the item and relist it in order to make it available again.
The shopping cart software will direct you to fill out your information (hopefully it remembers those of you who are returning, it remembered my friend when we were doing tests and remembered me so I’m hoping that it does that. ) and automatically take you to paypal. So far this seems to be a seamless procedure.
I do remain online and can be reached via gmail during the updates.
there is still a problem of the text on the pop-up being too pale to read, and my friend is working on that. but, as i said, this will not affect whether or not you get an item into your cart.
So far the site seems to handle traffic spikes quite well.
again I appreciate any feedback, and keep in mind its still ‘under construction’ and things will be changing as I learn.

Ok, did some messing around with the site with my friend, fixed a few visual errors, etc with the shop section, still working on that awful yellow /white/grey text problem on the pop up…
but you asked about avatars/registration, now you should be able to create avatars on open id sites such as
http://en.gravatar.com/
and you should be recognized by the site with your avatar when you post comments etc.
your first comment will go through screening so if you do not see it right away, its waiting to be screened, but once it is approved your subsequent comments will be allowed automatically without screening.

in honor of the new page, around 10pm Helsinki time you might actually find some new item in the shop…juuuust letting you know. the shop software is entirely new to me..from what i’ve tested it works…so…i’m all open for feedback!! I hope to make little listings throughout this week before we break it in with a large listing, so keep your peepers open for stuff dropping in…I’ll try and do it around 10pm.
