Betty, Thanks for the input! also good to know about the under construction page. It MIGHT be that the under construction post was an edited version of the very original post included with the framework of the website/software and basically has internal issues somehow, because it has NO comments…iiiinteresting. It seems that all the posts i have made from scratch are comment capable. according to the settings of the construction post, comments SHOULD be allowed to be left…but again my understanding of code is..uhm..NONE whatsoever… What I probably should do is delete it altogether and just repost it.
You have definitely found me at a time of transition. What has started as a little free time fun has grown into there are not enough hours in a day for what i need to do….Not that I’m complaining one bit. I’m just eternally grateful that people love what I make and want to buy my items. This doesn’t leave much time for forums at all, which is why I really wanted a website where I can interact with customers/fellow hobbyists in a better format. keeping up with PM’s, Flickr mail, e mail…gets overwhelming so I’m trying to concentrate my efforts into this place. So hello and welcome! You will find I am always active at flickr. Its my favourite place to be on the web!

Hello everyone: Just to let you know I have left three comments on the UNDER CONSTRUCTION page and each time I hit “submit” I am booted off the network! So very frustrating, but then again, I try to imagive what you Ruthie, and everyone else involved is going through. I just wanted to say hi, congratulations, best wishes and warm hugs. Being a total newbie to this amazing, wonderful world of Blythe, I had not even heard of Euro Trash for Blythe , but it’s the WORD traveling throughout Plastic Paradise at a frantic rate. So many peeps on the Island are asking for your goods, tracking them down only to find they are already snatched up by someone else! Popular doesn’t even come close from what I’ve heard! GOOD LUCK with setting up the site, all will work out for you, thousands upon thousands of Blythe lovers have your back and are all rooting for you, I sure know I am ) Hope this comment goes through even though it is in the incorrect place……and I was going to be the very first person to post a comment on the next page…..oh darn. At least I gave it my all. Thanks for what looks like an extraordinary website……oh goodie, I get to go shopping. Whoopeeee! Betty

thank you! i am aware of the pop up box issue, i just need a friend who is familiar with the coding on it to help me change the font color, because i am coding/programming inept…its all greek to me…i actually might know more greek than coding language actually… I hope to in the next few days build a brief tutorial on how to use the shop.
i need to see what i can figure out regarding profiles/avatars…some people have had avatars in their comments and its none of my work..i know there is something out there for ‘open id’ which saves your info. i do know that the site recognizes you and once i approve one of your comments, your comments automatically get posted..I hope that in time as I begin to learn more and more of having the site up and running that the features become alot more clear!

Congratulations Ruth on the opening of the shop here. The yellow writing on the pop up box is very difficult to read and a bit confusing until you spot your basket on the right hand side. But other than that I think it was pretty straight forward
Are we able to set up *profiles* and have avatar pictures ?

great. thats good to hear. i think over time i can even get an auction plug in for the site, that would be kind of fun too for bigger sets or customs. I just wish artfire was not so ugly! but..in the end i’m just glad to be running solo. even though right now its going to eat alot of my time..i know that the best way to learn is just to use the software and dive in and get to know it. and I’m glad you got something you wanted! I would have had two of these to offer but i ruined the sleeves on the other one..i’ll just patch them up and keep it for myself i guess

That all sounds good then, yes. I think it works quite nicely, and I much prefer it to Artfire. Very happy you have your own site at last And ridiculously happy that I got the dress I’ve been longing for all week.

no, they will have thumbnail photos. i think i can have up to 20 items per page. i’ll have to double check that but I think thats it. and all the pictures can fit into the thumbnail. my sister and i were on the phone so i was not concentrating. i could have used a cut, but i figured that for a single item i would not have to worry about it. i know there is some way that i can prepare the listings and preview them and then publish it later..i just have to figure out how to do it. i was just really worried that multiple people would be able to buy it..and i am just really glad it was not the case.

We missed that while manically refreshing I think What happens if theres more than one listing? Do you have to have all the pictures for each on the main shop page?

what should have happened is you should have gotten a little pop up on the screen that said ‘check out now or continue shopping’ the only bad thing is the text is yellow and hard to see…i don’t know how to change that yet..but its something i definitely want to look into. the GOOD thing is that once its in your cart it won’t go anywhere…(at least as far as my experimentation goes….) anyhow with the little pop up you should be able to choose what to do next..but i agree…its a bit confusing until you notice on the lower right the text about the cart/check out…
I think as I grow more familiar with the process myself I will try and create a page that has information on how to use the shop/cart system..probably with screen caps or something.
